Bia Santos is the CEO and founder of Barkus Educacional, an edtech focused on inclusion and financial education, backed by Google for Startups. Bia was recognized by Forbes in the Under 30 list in the Science and Education category; in the Powerlist 100 as one of the 100 most influential Black people in the Lusophone world in 2022; and as Tech Entrepreneur Brazil in the Women that Build Awards 2022. Additionally, she won the Women Who Transform award from XP Inc. in the Financial Innovation category and was honored by Mulheres Exponenciais 2023 in the Technology field. She holds a degree in Business Administration from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and the University of Porto, and a postgraduate degree in African and Afro-Brazilian History and Culture from Instituto Pretos Novos, with research on organizational diversity and finance. She is featured in the book Somos Empreendedoras by Itaú Mulher Empreendedora. Bia serves as a board member for the city of Rio de Janeiro, BNDES Garagem, Artemisia, and Unisuam. She was nominated for the IVLP (International Visitor Leadership Program), the premier professional exchange program of the U.S. Department of State.
