Eduardo Gianneti holds degrees in Economics and Social Sciences from USP and a PhD in Economics from the University of Cambridge, England. He taught at the University of Cambridge (1984-87), at FEA/USP (1988-2000), and at Insper in São Paulo. He was elected the best professor of the Faculty of Economics by USP students and was named Economist of the Year in 2004 by the Order of Economists of São Paulo. He is a member of the Brazilian Academy of Letters (ABL) and has won two Jabuti Awards: in 1994, with the book "Private Vices, Public Benefits?" and in 1995, with "The Parts & the Whole". The book "Self-Deception" (Companhia das Letras, 1998), also awarded, established Giannetti not only as a distinguished economist but also as an important thinker. In addition to these, he has published several other books and national and international articles. In his presentations, he addresses, besides the macroeconomic scenario, topics such as ethics and the social consequences of economic transformations.
